A little about Crowborough…
Crowborough is a town and civil parish in East Sussex, England, in the Weald at the edge of Ashdown Forest in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is 7 miles (11 km) south-west of Royal Tunbridge Wells and 33 miles (53 km) south of London. It had a population of 20,607 at the 2011 Census.
Crowborough was a small village until the 19th century, when it became a popular spa town. The spa closed in the early 20th century, but Crowborough continued to grow as a commuter town for London. It is now a popular destination for tourists, with its beautiful countryside, historic buildings, and family-friendly attractions.
Crowborough is also famous as being the setting for A.A.Milne’s wonderful Winnie the Pooh books. The Hundred Acre Wood is thought to be based on Ashdown Forest, and Milne himself lived in Crowborough for many years.
