A little about Hailsham…
Hailsham is a town in East Sussex, England. It’s a town where the Wealden district’s main offices are located.
Hailsham is one of the few towns mentioned in a book called the Domesday Book, where it was called Hamelesham.
The name “Hailsham” comes from the old Saxon words “Haegels Ham,” which mean Haegel’s open area or community.
People have lived in Hailsham for a very long time, even before the Romans came to Kent and Sussex in 43 AD. The town has a history that goes back to the time of ancient British settlements, during the Neolithic age.
Hailsham is the largest town in southern Wealden district, East Sussex, with around 8,500 homes and over 20,000 people.
